Engineering degrees are not like other degrees. They require an understanding of the theory and practice. To pass and get good results it is usually a set of things that need to be done; the following is how you can get high marks in engineering:
1- Attend or watch recorded lectures
You can not expect to pass an engineering subject without learning the concepts weekly. Attending lectures is a good way to participate and get an initial understanding of the topics. However, watching the recorded lectures is also an option. Yet skipping the weekly lectures altogether makes learning difficult by only reading the lecture notes making it more likely to miss important tips during the lecture.
2- Own the subject textbooks, and lecture notes
Having a copy of the subject textbook or the lecture notes gives you more detailed information. This is where you find a detailed explanation with examples. Relying only on the information presented in the lecture is usually not enough, and most certainly, you will need to get back to the source.
3- Make your own notes
Reading the lecture notes and attending lectures is not enough as it can guarantee passing results. However, to excel, you need to go above and beyond by making your notes. The more you invest time in making your notes, the easier it is to revise the day before the exam and have a good reference even after you graduate instead of going back to the textbooks when you want to revise something.
4- Practice the problems
Practice makes perfect, which is why the more you do something, the better you get at it. This will be a good way to get good marks in exams as you have a more in-depth understanding of the problem. So ensure that you practice at least all the problems nominated by the lecturer.
5- Stop procrastinating
Procrastination has to do with being bored but also with not finding a connection with your study and not enjoying your degree. This is a common issue that many students suffer from. 6- Have study habit

7- Have a study buddy and study group
This is a great way to exchange information and get your questions answered. Having this kind of support is always helpful in engineering. It can be challenging to go through many engineering assignments; therefore, open discussions between colleges always bring excellent outcomes.
8- Network with past students
Networking with past students is another support that can help get your questions answered and have some lessons learned from a past student on how to study engineering subjects. Therefore, making relationships outside your class can always help boost your results.
9- Practice past exams
Practising past exams is always beneficial as it gives you a feel of the difficulty of questions you can expect. However, getting your hand on those materials requires lots of searching. However, most materials are sometimes available in the university library or through networking with passed students.
