Becoming a military engineer is a gateway to many engineering job opportunities and interesting engineering problems. There is a huge demand for military engineers due to the technical support they bring to the military, specifically to the United States military.
This is what you need to do to become a military engineer:
- Finish an accredited engineering course: Such as Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Gain experience in your engineering field (Optional): for at least 4 years to be eligible for a PE licence exam.
- Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB): This determines if you are fit to join the service and which branch you are most suitable for.

- Undertake specific engineering training: This is specific training based on the engineering work within the military.
